Eco Tour

The Ox Cart tour is a new initiative project in 2017. It allows the local to participate actively in the tourism industry. And this will form part of their income for their daily livelihood. Tourism not only directly benefits the country; the citizens will reap the benefits through more job opportunities and more skillsets learn.

Se Rey Cafe

The Cafe was opened in 2016. The main focus of the Cafe is to provide a learning ground for individuals who are keen to explore further in the Food & Beverages industry. A variety of roles for them to learn on managing cafe. Most importantly, the locals are able to learn from each other on new delicacies as well.

Community Tourism

We believe in building and strengthening relations with our counterparts across borders. TRK is embarking on an upcoming economic project in TRK to welcome foreigners to experience the authentic Cambodian Culture in Svay Rieng and Battambang provinces.

Kindergarten

The kindergarten project, which started in 2012, provides basic education such as simple Khmer literacy and numeracy skills to 70 children (aged between 3-5 years old). Children attend a 2-hr lesson every morning from Monday to Friday. Both Svay Toea village and Teahean Krom village, which is located in Svay Rieng province.

Non-Formal English Education

The kindergarten project, which started in 2012, provides basic education such as simple Khmer literacy and numeracy skills to 70 children (aged between 3-5 years old). Children attend a 2-hr lesson every morning from Monday to Friday. Both Svay Toea village and Teahean Krom village, which is located in Svay Rieng province.

Community Library

Community Library provides storybooks to children in the villages. Most of the books are donated by individuals and NGOs. This project operates in both Svay Rieng and Battambang provinces.

University Scholarship

TRK also provides scholarships for outstanding candidates who may not have the opportunities to attend university in Cambodia. As of 2015, 12 students have been awarded with the scholarships for higher education. Each scholarship is prized at USD$250-280 (Annual University fees range from $250-280).

Community Electricity Project

Electricity was not available for all in the villages of Svay Rieng. Thus TRK initiated the Community Electricty Project in 2010 which currently provides electricity to 4 villages. 185 families in the villages donated to help realise the Community Electricity Project.

The purpose of this project is not only to provide electricity for the villages, but also to unite local communities to produce the collective benefits for themselves (so that they can use electricity safely) and understand the notion of shared responsibility. This work is only operating in Svay Rieng province.

Chett Karuna

Chett Karuna Project sells donated products like clothings and bags to local villages at low prices of USD$1 – 4. TRK believes that each individual should work for what they want and not receive donations without working hard for them.

The revenue earned from the project is used to provide sponsorships for village children. For instance, in October 2013, the revenue earned from the project was used to support 3 children to bicycle, stationery and school uniforms. This project only operates in Svay Rieng province.

Credit Union

TRK strongly believes that she has to be self-sufficient financially and not be overly reliant on donations. Credit Union is thus the first Economic Project that generates revenues to support the Social projects. Established in 2013, Credit Union functions like a micro-finance firm. It operates like a bank and provides small loans to villages. There are currently 470 savers and 170 loaners for this project. It operates in both Svay Rieng and Battambang province.
